Café Georgetown Review

If you know anything about me, you know I am a coffee connoisseur.

My husband and I spent a lovely Sunday afternoon in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC. We wanted some coffee that wasn’t from a chain and we came across Café Georgetown. The café is very quaint. As soon as you walk in you see dark blue walls with an amazing black and white patterned tile. The interior design is just amazing and definitely an Instagrammer’s paradise! They have signs all over the café stating they are a laptop free zone. Which was nice because people were actually having conversations with each other and it changed the whole atmosphere. When we got there it looked like all the seats were taken until we realized it has a gorgeous back room with a wine bar.

We had the Blueberry Lavender Iced tea and the Cherry Blossom latte. The barista also persuaded us to get a slice of freshly made pumpkin bread. When our drinks were brought over to our table I was in awe. They were too pretty to drink!

I wanted to get the Cherry Blossom Latte with almond milk since I’m lactose intolerant, but the barista said it’s hard for the artist to make the latte art using dairy alternatives. Luckily, I had my digestive enzymes and got regular whole milk.  The latte was absolutely amazing! I honestly thought they wouldn’t have good coffee and they pay all their attention to the latte art, but I was totally wrong.

The Blueberry Lavender Iced Tea was out of this world! The blueberry was mostly used to get the vibrant bluish purple color and to sweeten the tea just a bit. I’ve noticed that a lot of lavender infused desserts or drinks usually have an overpowering lavender taste but not this tea.  That says a lot since I’m not a big tea drinker but this tea was hands down amazing. I wish I could drink it everyday!

If you have a chance to visit Georgetown make sure to check this cafe out, you won’t be disappointed!
